Ten bitten in feral dog attack
A pregnant woman fell as she fled from the marauding pack.
A PACK of feral dogs attacked and mauled 10 people in Samtombie, Harding this morning. KwaZulu-Natal EMS crews responded to the Samtombie clinic to treat the people who had been bitten.
“The patients said they had been walking along a road next to a sports field when a pack of around 13 dogs started chasing them,” said Robert McKenzie, spokesman for KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services, which responded to the clinic to treat the victims.
Most of the people were bitten on the arms and legs. It has been reported that a pregnant woman fell while running from the wild dogs. She was badly injured as the dogs bit her as she lay on the ground.The victims were treated at the clinic before being taken to St Andrew’s Hospital in Harding. A businessman in Harding said he had seen many dogs hunting in the area hunting over the weekend, adding that this has become a huge problem.
