Car lovers rev up for romance

The weather was perfect for a car run to Hibberdene.

THE annual St Valentine’s breakfast has become a popular tradition among the Sports and Specials regulars and there was an excellent turnout for this year’s red-letter car run.

The car enthusiasts met at Shelly Beach on Sunday morning last week and enjoyed a sunny drive to Hibberdene. Mzimayi River Lodge, the venue for the breakfast, proved a good choice. A warm welcome, lovely surrounds, gorgeous sea views and an excellent breakfast all added up to a great celebration of romance.

Some interesting new cars took part in the car run, with Brett Bellinger’s newly acquired 1965 DKW F1200cc attracting plenty of attention. Members of the South Coast Motor Cycle and Car Club joined the Sports and Specials for the run, adding some eye-catching classics to the line-up.
