Church hosts vetkoek and comedy events
The church sold 1400 vetkoek last Friday.
THEY say many hands make light work – this is certainly the case at the NG Kerk, Port Shepstone which has recently hosted two successful events to raise funds for the church.
Last Friday, parishioners were up before 4am preparing the bread dough for the vetkoek. Their hard work paid off, and they sold 1400 vetkoek.
The church plans to do this successful fund-raiser again in the near future – so watch this space.
Another fund-raiser called ‘pik ‘n proe’, held two Fridays ago, was an evening filled with comedy and great food.
A total of 252 people filled the school hall, and enjoyed the tasting of an assortment of food, combined with a comedy play titled ‘Die Omgekeerde Troue’.
