‘John and Betty make people feel special’

DEAR Editor,-
Every so often one comes across outstanding members of the community and two such individuals come to mind after the recent Christmas season.
1 John Irven of Southport – who touched the hearts and minds of members of the community, particularly during that time of the year, and made them feel special; and 2 Betty Connell of Bethany Park, Southport – who takes time out to take individuals who have no transport to do their Christmas shopping during the most hectic time of the season.
I salute you both for your unselfishness and warm-hearted caring.
