‘Municipal management is accountable’
I believe that with a touch of effort, skill and job appreciation, this small municipality could thrive.
DEAR Editor,-
I would like to add to the letter that appeared in last week’s edition. I installed filters in my house in Umtentweni and attach a photo of filters after 24 hours. I basically get 3 weeks out of one filter.
Most important is the obvious and frustrating fact that the municipality and its management have absolutely no interest in these concerns. There is no accountability, they just don’t care and blatantly don’t respond to any formal application of concern.
A prime example is the case of the duplicate fines issued. No response after four weeks should culminate in a written warning. The municipality management are employed by the state and are accountable for this query.
I believe that, with a touch of effort, skill and job appreciation, this small municipality could thrive. My personal opinion is that municipality management is responsible for the massive unemployment rate and hence the crime on the South Coast. Because of failing systems, processes and a general lack of interest, the municipality does not encourage investment.
