New taxi rank for Murchison

Two projects were handed over to Murchison communities.

THE new R1,6-million Murchison Taxi Rank was officially handed over by the Hibiscus Coast Municipality mayor, Cynthia Mqwebu, last Friday.

The official opening of the rank came after a reconstruction process by SANRAL during the upgrading of the National Road (N2).

Mayor Mqwebu, ward 22 councillor Happy Nyawose and Inkosi Sazi Ndwalane also officially handed over a Skills Centre at Maveshe in Murchison.

The R611 000 centre will house a music studio, a sewing room and a workshop to train artisans.

“KwaMaveshe Skills Centre will attract music producers, high profile musicians and professionals who will transfer their skills to the local people who will benefit in the field of beading, weaving, knitting, and a internet library,” said mayor Mqwebu.
