Fresh start for Stonecroft Ministries

New year, new committee and new beginnings.

NEW beginnings for Stonecroft Ministries, which started the new year at a new venue. A new committee was introduced at this year’s first meeting, held at Mbango Valley retirement village on Friday last week.

The women were treated to an exceptionally interesting talk on getting their homes to look great by Ria Hackland, with tips ranging from changing colours from the dull burgundies to brighter-looking shades in the lounge to making use of glass and water to give that ‘cool’ effect.

The chairman of Stonecroft, Antoinette Meyer, reminded all the women why they were at the gathering. “We are here to share the Gospel of Christ with each other,” she said, before introducing the guest speaker of the day, Sue Nielson, who is a matron at Genesis Care Centre.

Sue has been nursing for the past 50 years and shared her walk with God during this period. “He has been a faithful God throughout my journey,” she said, encouraging the women to seek first the Kingdom of God. She treated them to a beautiful rendition of a new chorus being sung at her church.

The next meeting will be held on Friday, February 19, at Mbango.

The theme is ‘General Etiquette’, talk by Anita Hulley and the guest speaker is Liz Barnes. Bookings essential – Betsie 071 6047271 or Hannetjie 039 6951838.
