Mtwalume gogo turns 100

Family and friends gathered for the special celebration.

Gogo Nozizwe Eddie Maphumulo from Mtwalume was celebrated at her 100th birthday at Ogabazini Lounge on June 13.

Her birthday was on June 12, however, the special get together was held a day later.

Zitha Maphumulo speaks at his grandmother's birthday get together.

The event was attended by family, friends, and blessed with the presence of Inkosi Nathi Maphumulo from Umbumbulu.

Nozizwe is the grandmother of well-known South Coast businessman, Lizwi ‘Slow Poison’ Maphumulo.
Maphumulo’s wife, Dudu, said that it was a special day for the entire family.

“Gogo got married at the age of 18 and she was the first wife. We saw it fit that she is celebrated to show her how much we love her.”

Nozizwe is still fit and able to walk on her own.

“The celebration is our way to thank God. Not having an elder in a family leaves a void and we appreciate her.”

According to Dudu, Nozizwe has five daughters.

The celebration ended with a feast, dancing and lots of gifts for gogo.
