POLICE are investigating murder and arson after three people died when a house in Nzimakwe, near Port Edward, was gutted on Sunday.
The fire broke out at about 5am in the rondavel occupied by Nontozamele Ntlawzane (60), Hendry Nduli (55) and Zibonakalise Sukude (55).
“When police arrived at the scene, they found Mr Sukude lying outside the house with several stab wounds. He had also been burnt. Ms Ntlawzane and Mr Nduli were still inside and burnt beyond recognition,” said Captain Mfeka.
Port Edward police were quick to arrest two men in the Nkoneni Ward next day. The men are due to appear in court today (Thursday).
