A local boxing event will pack a punch for a good cause when the Rumble Series KZN Championship finals take place at the Action Sports Arena in Shelly Beach on Saturday, September 5.

Hosted by Box360 Movement in conjunction with Relentless Boxing and Action Sports South Coast, the event will feature the KZN championship finals, with an exhibition fight also planned to help raise funds for a young South Coast sporting talent.

Sixteen-year-old Chiniqe du Plessis has been selected to represent South Africa at the Action Cricket World Cup, to play alongside international teams including New Zealand, Australia, England, India, the USA, UAE and Sri Lanka.

The talented youngster, who plays action netball and action cricket, is the first to achieve double South African colours in both sports. She is also a top academic performer, ranked in the top 10 in her grade.

Her World Cup opportunity comes with a R30 000 tour cost to cover travel, accommodation, uniforms, equipment and other expenses.

The event offers boxing fans an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of action while helping a promising young athlete pursue her international sporting dream.

One of the highlights will be an exhibition bout involving Box360’s coach and founder, Roland van Rooyen.
