Citizen’s arrest in Sheppie CBD
The thug was apprehended by bystanders in the Port Shepstone CBD.
ALERT bystanders in Bazley Street, in Port Shepstone on Wednesday morning apprehended a man who had snatched a gold chain from around a woman’s neck.
The woman was standing near a shop in town when two men suddenly appeared in front of her. One grabbed her necklace – a gold chain with a diamond pendant – from her neck.
The woman grabbed his arm and told him to let go.
“The chain broke and the men fled with the pendant and one piece of the gold chain,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
One of the men was apprehended by bystanders and Law Enforcement officers and handed over to Sergeant Clifford Mdlozini and Constable Ronald Cwele from the K9 Unit.
He will appear in court soon.
