Man killed in mob justice attack

The man was allegedly a well-know drug dealer operating in the area.

MOB justice was again the order of the day when Roseneath, Umkomaas, residents took the law into their own hands and murdered a man.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was allegedly a well-known drug dealer operating in the Umkomaas area.

Someone who was at the scene said that the 30-year-old victim had “become a nuisance,” this apparently, after he had broken into and ransacked several houses in the area.

Umkomaas SAPS members received a report of a murder near Hull Valley Pump and went to investigate.

“Officers found the body of a man on the side of the road,” said Provincial SAPS communications officer, Lieutenant-Colonel, Thulani Zwane, adding that the victim had allegedly been assaulted by members of the community and later died from his injuries.
