Just in: Uvongo man arrested for child pornography

The Uvongo man was found to be in possession of over 300 photographs, depicting minor children in the nude.

POLICE this morning arrested a 56-year old man at his Uvongo home for being in possession of child pornography. 

He is due to appear in the Ramsgate court  later today.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the arrest was a result of a crime intelligence driven operation conducted by the Margate Crime Intelligence gathering unit; officers from Durban Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) and the Serial and Electronic Crime Investigation section.

He was found to be in possession of over 300 photographs of naked minor children.

“Anyone who has information regarding similar cases, should immediately contact the nearest police station,” added Lt-Col Wiid.
