Newsflash: Shop owner murdered during robbery
This is the most recent incident in a spate of crime in the area.
THE owner of a tuckshop in Turton near Hibberdene was killed by an armed robber early last night.
According to police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the businessman was approached by a man who demanded cash.
“The suspect then shot the businessman before fleeing with the money,” she said.
Following a spate of crime in the Hibberdene policing sector, including the murder of an off-duty policeman last Wednesday night, a provincial task team made up of several different units has been tasked to focus on the area.
