VIDEO: Marsec top achievers have big plans for 2017
Marburg Secondary received an overall pass rate of 92,26 percent.
IT is that time of the year when matric pupils from all over the South Coast are getting their end of year results and the excitement is just on another level.
The Herald spoke to a few inspiring pupils from Marburg Secondary school who passed with flying colours.

The three top achievers are Roxanne Nadas Goviden, Ntombizethu Myeza and Sanele Magubane who all scored four distinctions each followed by other outstanding marks for their matric certificates.
Top pupil Roxanne from Port Shepstone admits that getting four distinctions requires a lot of hard work. “It was not at all easy, I had to cut down on my social life, abandon my cellphone and study for long hours to get these results. I am not completely satisfied with the marks I obtained but at least I made it as top achiever,” said Roxanne.
“My plan for 2017 is to study chartered accounting, it’s what I have always wanted to do and I have been accepted at Wits University,” she added.

Ntombizethu from Gamalakhe, the second top achiever has been accepted in the University of Johannesburg where she will study mechanical engineering.
Marsec received an overall pass rate of 92,26 percent consisting of 55,68 percent bachelor passes, 31,13 percent diploma passes and 13,17 percent higher certificates. A total number of 184 pupils wrote the exams.

The pupils were not the only ones excited about the results. Principal, Saleem Vallee said that he was pleased that this year’s matriculants helped maintain the school’s 90 percent pass rate.
