The three top achievers are Roxanne Nadas Goviden, Ntombizethu Myeza and Sanele Magubane who all scored four distinctions each followed by other outstanding marks for their matric certificates.

Top pupil  Roxanne from Port Shepstone admits that getting four distinctions requires a lot of hard work. “It was not at all easy, I had to cut down on my social life, abandon my cellphone and study for long hours to get these results. I am not completely satisfied with the marks I obtained but at least I made it as top achiever,” said Roxanne.

“My plan for 2017 is to study chartered accounting, it’s what I have always wanted to do and  I have been accepted at Wits University,” she added.
