Illegal cargo ‘tolled’ by police in Port Shepstone
The car was stopped near the Oribi toll plaza this morning.
DAGGA weighing about 160.05kg, en route from the Eastern Cape to Durban, was seized by police near the Oribi toll plaza at Port Shepstone at about 8am today.

A white sedan was intercepted by Warrant Officer Johan Terreblanche from Port Shepstone K9 unit and Constable Sibusiso Cele from the Port Shepstone 10111 call centre response vehicle, assisted Detective W/O Abraham Sonnekus from Organised Crime Unit, who had received information about the vehicle.

“A 27-year-old man was the only occupant of the vehicle. The car was searched and 53 packages containing dagga were found. The total weight of the dagga is 160.05 kg with a value of R360 000,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
