IT’s not often that police have an easy time of it, but while investigating a murder at the Umzinto Clinic, Umzinto SAPS had their suspects handed right to them.
Earlier that week, a pupil had been robbed of his schoolbag and cellphone by four men in the Esperanza area while on his way to school.
On Saturday, he went to open a case of robbery at the Umzinto SAPS and spotted three of the men. He raised the alarm.
Mlindeli Khathi and brothers Nkosingiphile and Sphiwe Sokhulu were arrested.

Police confiscated an Okapi knife, a school bag and cellphone, said Scottburgh SAPS communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.
The three men appeared in the Umzinto Magistrate’s Court on Monday, May 15, on charges of robbery.
Khathi was then also linked to the murder of Sifiso Dlamini, believed to have been part of the gang.
He was found dead at the Umzinto Clinic on May 13, apparently stabbed in an argument over whether or not to sell the phone.
Detective Warrant Officer Brian Khoza of the Umzinto SAPS Detective Service is investigating.
