HELD up at gunpoint, a prospective employee and store manager at Ackerman’s in Umzinto were robbed of various goods and cash on Tuesday afternoon, June 6.

Two men burst into the offices of the outlet, situated at Bhai Plaza, one brandishing a firearm.

“Pointing the gun at the manager’s head, the gunman demanded money and cellphones,” said Scottburgh SAPS communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.

The robbers then proceeded to grab various cellphones before fleeing the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The manager was locked in the office before the suspects fled.

Detective Constable Erasmus Mbutho of the Umzinto SAPS Detective Service is investigating a case of business robbery.
