According to Kwazulu-Private Ambulance spokesman, Belinda Catchpole it appears that the driver lost control of the light motor vehicle at Batstone’s Drift just off the N2 before plummeting some four metres and landing in the river.

“He was rescued and stabilised in the ambulance after which he was taken to hospital for further care,” said Mrs Catchpole.
