Pupils had an exciting morning when Crime Scene Management teams presented a ‘Safety Awareness’ demonstration at the school.

PORT Shepstone Junior Primary pupils experienced an exciting morning last Wednesday when the SAPS Search and Rescue, K9 Unit and Crime Scene Management teams presented a ‘Safety Awareness’ demonstration.

Sirens blared and smoke bombs deployed as Warrant Officers Mark Wiid, Rommel da Rosa, Gawie Nel, Francois Pretorius and Brian Henning ‘rescued’ teacher Emma van Vuuren from ‘hijacker’ W/O Brian Henning.

‘Bear’ from the K9 Unit then performed a search and rescue by finding pupil Thembeka Maluleke, who was deliberately and strategically hidden behind a bush on the school grounds.
