FOR the first time in Port Shepstone Secondary’s history, four volleyball players were selected for KZN Provincial ‘A’ teams in the boys’ U15 and U17 divisions last term.
They competed at the National School Sport Championships Winter Games in Durban during July. Teams from all provinces competed at the most difficult and competitive level at Westville Boys High and Durban University of Technology.

Another first in the country is that half of the KZN U15 squad is from PS Secondary, which greatly impressed provincial and national technical officials and coaches.
Rising stars Griffin Pillay (gr 9D), Dave Bauer (gr 10A) and Jodash Kisten (gr 9C) are congratulated for being pivotal in securing a fourth position for KZN.
In the U17 boys’ division, team KZN powered its way to victory and was crowned national champions for 2017.
The superb performance of super-hero central attacker Nathaniel Govender (gr 11C) won him the most prestigious award of best blocker in the country – another first for the school.
