Merlewood Primary ‘scientists’ enter expo

Ayanda secured a silver medal for her project ‘Buckle up’, which focused on safe travelling for children in motor vehicles.

A FEW Merlewood Primary pupils from grades 6 to 8 recently attended the Science Expo held at DUT in Durban. Projects were entered by Ayanda Mkane (gr 6), Junior Gcaba (gr 7) and Nonjabulo Nkasa (gr 8).

Ayanda secured a silver medal for her project ‘Buckle up’, which focused on safe travelling for children in motor vehicles.

This was an exceptional achievement as the same criteria was used to judge high school entrants.

Once again, the U13 soccer boys took part in the Strini Moodley soccer tournament held at Port Shepstone Senior Primary and the boys played extremely well.

Unfortunately they were outplayed by Port Shepstone Primary in the semi-finals, but the school is extremely proud of its soccer team.
