Suid-Natal High’s ’nightingale’ Cindi-Mari soars

Cindi-Mari was part of the KZN Youth Choir which competed in the famous International Golden Voices of Barcelona competition.

SUID-NATAL High pupil Cindi-Mari Buitendagh was part of the KwaZulu-Natal Youth Choir that toured Spain to compete in the famous International Golden Voices of Barcelona competition in Lloret de Mar. There were thirty one entries in the choral competition alone.

The choir competed in the Academic Singing, Sacred, Gospel and Folklore categories and scooped a first prize and a trophy in each category.

There was no ‘chamber choir’ category and therefore the choir was entered twice in the Sacred category, as a full choir and chamber group comprising twenty four choristers. The choir took first and second place in the Sacred category.

The choir did exceptionally well and the school is extremely proud that Cindi-Mari was part of this achievement.

She has been selected to represent the KwaZulu-Natal Youth Choir in 2018, which makes this the third consecutive year that Cindi-Mari represents.
