SHEPPIE High’s oratory team represented KZN in the SAASTA National Schools Debate competition held in Pretoria recently. Nine provinces competed on the topic ‘Should South Africa increase its investment in nano-medicine and will this benefit everyone?’

When the ardent debating came to a close, tension remained high as adjudicators deliberated on which of the nine schools would scoop top honours. Port Shepstone High took silver and SJ van der Merwe Secondary from Limpopo won gold.
The team proudly accepted their silver medals and gifts and were commended for PSHS being the first KZN team placed at the SAASTA Nationals.
Nazreena Mohammed, who played a key role in preparing the team for the competition, was ecstatic that these pupils were rewarded for all their hard work and tireless dedication.
