Merlewood Primary pupils shine at spelling

Some of the prescribed words were at a much higher level than they were used to.

Merlewood Primary held a junior phase ‘Spelling Bee’ competition to help improve reading. Grades 1 to 3 pupils competed in their respective grades and teachers were impressed at how easily they mastered ‘difficult’ words.

Some of the prescribed words were at a much higher level than they were used to and the junior phase ‘audience’ was enthralled that the competition had to end in a tie break.

Congratulations to winners Sibulele Bazley (gr 1), Aphelele Msabala (gr 2) and Brooklyn Erasmus (gr 3).

Parents are requested to diarise the annual general meeting (AGM) to be held in the school hall on Saturday, December 2 at 2pm.
