Southcity salutes teacher Corinna Meyer

The school prays for God’s richest blessings for Mrs Meyer and her future.

Southcity bids a sad farewell to teacher Corinna Meyer and says thank you for giving a lifetime to young teenagers and teaching them more than just Afrikaans.

Mrs Meyer started her teaching career in 1976 teaching German and English at Hoërskool Zeerust. She taught there for 21 years until 1997, when she and her family relocated to the South Coast.

She joined the Southcity (then known as Evangel) staff and has been teaching Afrikaans at Southcity for the past 21 years.

A 42-year teaching career comes to an end for Mrs Meyer who has decided that it is time to retire from the classroom. However, her work in education is not done yet as she will be writing Afrikaans textbooks for IEB next year.
