Uumzintovale Primary School held its annual prize-giving recently, at which pupils were commended on their outstanding achievements and parents were taken aback by all the hard work the children had done throughout the year.
Between the motivating speeches and dance item, awards were given to the top 10 pupils in each grade as well as first place trophies to pupils with top marks in respective subjects.

The dux went to Jerusha Victoria Nagan, who took home several other awards on the day. Sarika Singh followed closely in second place.
Special awards were also handed out to the cricket boys, who did exceptionally well this year. Jerashan Maharaj was made cricketer of the year and was even selected for the U12 provincial team.
Well done also to foundation phase pupil, Darsha Moodley, who scooped up several awards on the day.
