Well done to the foundation phase pupils at Scottburgh Primary School who received certificates and awards for all their hard work this year.
The pupils were presented with their awards at the prize-giving held last Wednesday. Teacher, Gayle Armstrong and Principal, Segran Naidoo addressed pupils and parents. Solid advice was given to the grade 3s who will be entering senior phase next year and they were wished well.

Parents were also treated to a Christmas sing-along by the grade 1 – 3 classes. All pupils were given certificates for their achievements this year and those who went the extra mile were awarded ‘Outstanding Achievement Awards’.
The senior phase prize-giving was held last Friday, when pupils from grades 4 to 7 were awarded merit and excellence certificates for their hard work this year.
The guest of honour for the day was ex pupil, Julia van Zyl, who gave an inspiring speech to the grade 7s as they leave for ‘big school’ next year.
Congratulations to grade 7 pupils Sumona Pillay (third), Paige Russell (second) and Annabelle van der Merwe (first). Sports boy and girl of 2017, Joshua Simpkins and Christina Stanton, also shared the Nadine Stamatis Memorial Shield – Best All Rounder.

Well done to Olwethu Khuzwayo, who was the only pupil other than Paige and Annabelle, to take home first place in a subject. Olwethu was awarded the Excellence in IsiZulu Second Additional Language Award.
Annabelle received a number of awards for first place in several subjects as well as the 2017 Dux Award. Paige was runner-up Dux and also earned herself the Lindsay Good Fellowship Shield.
