Merlewood Secondary’s ‘Top 5’ pupils from grades 8 to 12 received certificates of achievement, as well as trophies for outstanding results in the 2017 academic year. Among the top gr 12 achievers were Lizwelenkosi Mndiyata, who walked away with four A symbols for isiZulu, life orientation, mathematics and accounting, and Inga Ntsingile who achieved four A symbols for isiZulu, life orientation, life science and geography.

But the school’s shining gr 12 star is top achiever and dux, Sphesihle Mkhize, who obtained splendid results with a phenomenal six A symbols and an impressive B for English.
It was indeed a proud moment for the teaching team to honour pupils for sterling results and the school hopes that this will serve to inspire other pupils to aspire to greatness.
