Hibberdene Academy is finally happily settled into the new year despite some late enrolments and ‘teething problems’. Foundation phase held its first parents’ meeting last Saturday and a number of parents attended.
After the meeting, parents visited individual classes where homework expectations and other pertinent issues were addressed.

Head of foundation phase, Nicole Beukes, stressed the importance of teamwork between teachers and pupils in order for pupils to achieve their full potential.
It is hoped that this will form the basis of mutual trust and assistance that will continue throughout the year.
Principal Brian Algie and the school secretary attended a principals’ meeting conducted by the IEB at St Henry’s Marist Brothers College in Durban where they were warmly congratulated on the excellent matric results achieved for the ‘Class of 2017’.
