WATCH & SHARE: Support woman’s Transkei mission to give children toys and clothes

Help this woman full her empty car with clothes and toys from SPCA charity shops for the children living in Mdumbi, Transkei.

After Chante Venter (28) from Johannesburg visited some of the rural communities in the Transkei she noticed that the children had a lack of adequate clothing and were hungry for stimulating games, sports and toys.

Since then, she has come to know of the non-profit organisation based in Mdumbi in the Transkei, where they have a successful program for education, health and economic empowerment.

Their one major issue is that the community is very rural and getting donations to the community isn’t always easy.

She plans to drive to Mdumbi on Tuesday next week to volunteer at the organization.

Her hope is to raise enough money to buy items from SPCA charity shops, along the way, to fill her car to the brim with clothes, toys, games and sports items.

She will be stopping in at the various Lower South Coast SPCA charity shops.

I have recently completed my studies as an English teacher and will be helping out at the school to assist the excellent teachers of the community wherever I can. I also hold a masters degree in Environmental Sciences and would love to assist the community in any way possible while I am there.

She added that she wouldn’t want the project to be limited to monetary donations, and she very eager to talk to any companies that can donate equipment for sports or education.

Every bit helps. Please feel free to discuss any ideas and suggestions with me – Chante
