Port Shepstone Islamic School added a varied programme of cultural and sporting activities to last week’s daily routine. Twelve orators from grades 7 to 12 went ‘public’ last Thursday. In a fiercely-contested event, impressive presentations covered a range of topics from ‘Algae, the fuel of the future’ to ‘Pride, the great sin!’ The ultimate winners were Juwairiya Limalia, Ayesha Khamissa, Aqsa Mahomed, Yaseera Ebrahim, Maseeha Omar, Hameeda Khan, Ilhaam Khamissa and Saudah Hoosen.

The Astro Knockout tournament last Saturday proved to be a fun-filled one, comprising 20 matches. Congratulations to Imran Sardar, Abdul Baasied Ahmed and Muaaz Bhayat for representing the SKZN Cricket Union at Glenwood High School last weekend.
The school is preparing for cricket coaching clinics at the Albersville Astro Arena. The U11 boys will take part in a Skills Development Programme (spearheaded by the SKZN Cricket Union) every Tuesday from 1.30 to 2.30pm.
