Port Shepstone Primary swimmers have fun in the sun

All parents are urged to attend the School Governing Body elections on March 8.

Port Shepstone Primary held its annual swimming gala on February 21 and 22. The aim of the gala was to indoctrinate water safety in pupils and teach vital swimming skills.

At this stage, the gala was purely developmental and not competitive. Grades competed against each other and medals were awarded as a motivation to enter the gala.

Foundation phase swimmers took part in many novelty events while intermediate and senior phases competed in, amongst others, the freestyle and relay events.

All entrants and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the gala and it is envisaged that pupils will be inspired to actively take part in the school’s swimming programme.

School Governing Body (SGB) elections will be held on March 8 and all parents are encouraged to attend and take part in the selection of parent representatives on the governing body.
