The 2018 rendition of the AMS Speech Contest went ahead as planned at Ihsaan Boys’ College recently. There was considerable interest this year, with nineteen girls and sixteen boys in their respective categories.

The standard of speech-making and delivery was commendable in both categories. Congratulations to entrants Hameeda Khan, Sabina Jogyat, Noor Mahomed Gani and, in particular, Ahmed Yusuf Ameen, who placed fourth.
A mini cricket festival was held at Port Shepstone Primary last Saturday and the U10 boys’ and girls’ teams took part.
The school library is hosting a literacy week from March 19 to 23. Activities planned for the week include book club discussions, poetry recitals, speech contest and story time, with the last day culminating in a ‘Donate a Book’ to the school library.
