Hlanganani Prep puts safety first

People in the vicinity can access the 'safe house' in times of trouble.

Several Hlanganani Preparatory staff members attended a First Aid workshop in Shelly Beach last Saturday. Charity Chuma, Jayshree Govender, Rita Smit, Robert Langlois and Vivian Mthembu have all received their certificates and can now assist in emergencies.

A ‘safe house’ has recently been dedicated to the school area. It has been placed at the entrance to the school and is one of four ‘safe houses’ that people in the vicinity can access in times of trouble.

The school’s 15 prefects received their badges at assembly last Friday.

The Department of Health embarked on a deworming programme and a consignment of tablets was dropped off at school last Friday to be administered to pupils whose parents consented.

Mid-year exams commenced this week with the English and Zulu orals and pupils have their exam time-tables in homework files.
