Blumricks inducted at Rotary Club of Hibiscus Coast dinner
Brian and Brenda Blumrick were inducted as the presidential couple of the Rotary Club of Hibiscus Coast.
Brian and Brenda Blumrick were inducted as the presidential couple of the Rotary Club of Hibiscus Coast at a recent glittering affair at Margate Country Club.
Assistant governor Gavin Jepson congratulated president, Anne Thompson, on a successful year.

“Under Anne’s leadership the club managed to qualify for a citation and completed 30 different projects, which ranged from youth leadership, scholarships, vulnerable people, challenged individuals and the elderly to NSRI and the SPCA,” explained Mr Jepson.
He mentioned that members also planted more than 200 trees with the help of various conservancies as well as running the busiest flea market on the South Coast, the Rotary Uvongo Flea Market.

A Service Above Self award was given to the ever-charismatic Norma Cominos, aged 88 and an Ann since 1952. In addition, service awards were presented to Rotarians Jennifer Mower for her ongoing work at the flea market, Cedric McDaniel for his many years of service to both the Rotarians and Anns and Wilma Lig for Public Image. Outgoing Ann president Ina Delve and the Anns club received a special appreciation award for their commitment and contributions.
Newly-inducted president Brian promised to lead the club with inspiration, some fresh ideas and to bring a vibrant approach to the club and members.
Newly inducted Ann president, Brenda, thanked Ina for her five years of excellent leadership in the Anns club.
“Through the Rotary Club’s members’ hard work, they managed to raise money from their pancake sales, homemade jams and by various other means. They funded several local community projects as well as making generous donations to Rotary International’s End Polio Now fund and to the Rotary Foundation,” said Brenda.
