Pundit Maharaj shares a common birth year with the Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir (lower Albersville) and thus had a very special association with the Mandir. He used to accompany his father  who served as the Mandir’s first priest, from the tender age of nine.

His first prayer service as a priest was conducted at the Mandir and this encouraged him to continue further. He was the second priest of the Mandir and had still continued to play a vital role and assist in the Mandir. He shared a special bond with its members both past and present.

He married Pingla Devi Bojdath Sharma and they had three daughters, Bandika, Roshilla Devi and Leka Devi. They lived in Roslyn Avenue, Port Shepstone and then moved to Tulip Place, Marburg.

He served as the president of the Shree Sanathan Dharma Sabha for many years also becoming the resident priest at the Mandir. Pundit Maharaj, together with his wife and daughters, unselfishly dedicated their lives to serving and uplifting the Hindu community at large.

He is survived by his three daughters, three sons-in-law, six grandchildren.
