Snorkellers support shark awareness at Scottburgh main beach

Volunteers helped clean up the beach.

In support of the Shark Awareness drive, members from the Scottburgh High School Underwater Club volunteered to help ScubaXcursion by offering free snorkeling lessons for the community that came to support the drive on Scottburgh beach recently.

Volunteers included Jaryd Carbutt, Rayde Kruger, Jordyn Carbutt and Teya Kouluntis.

The group also offered assistance with a beach clean-up after  Jessica Escobar had given a talk on ocean pollution.

“Due to the fact that it was during exam time, we merely asked for volunteers to assist, hence the turnout was small, but we do hope and anticipate that future Ocean Conservation projects will be supported with as much enthusiasm and more involvement from the rest of the club members,” said Michelle Andersen of Scottburgh High.
