Hospital staff and police force join together to make a difference

The two organisations joined forces and donated canned food and blankets.

Netcare Margate Hospital and Margate Saps pulled up their sleeves and did something to give back to their community.

These two organisations joined forces and encouraged staff members to donate canned food and blankets which were handed over to Umusa community projects.

Margate SAPS committed themselves in collecting blankets and ensuring that the community in need keeps warm this winter, with that said Netcare Margate Hospital collected canned food to ensure that those in need do not go to bed hungry.

Despite these two different organisation sectors, their act of kindness and willingness to go the extra mile will not be forgotten. They kept reminding themselves that the can be no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return. – Nelson Mandela.

Senior reporter Sugan Naidoo is a true son of the South Coast soil. He was to the newspaper industry born, his late father working at the South Coast Herald back in the days when black and white photographs were still being used. Sugan has been with Caxton for close to three decades, having started as a weekend photographer, straight out of school.
