Annual Southcity bash attracts crowds

With lots of activities and a variety of food, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Southcity Christian School held its fourth annual ‘Banana Bash Duathlon’ recently. The school extends a huge thank you to all sponsors, main sponsor Isolendalo, all market stall holders and most importantly, all entrants and supporters, for making this day so successful. There was a record-breaking total of 354 entries and everyone had loads of fun on the course and on the field.

With lots of activities and a variety of food, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Thank you to coach Clive Pieterse and his team for such a beautiful, well set-out route. Special thanks to Sean Doveton for allowing the school to use his farm.

Half distance individual winners were Shane Cole and Zinnia Freittas (first seniors), Scott Taylor, Sarah-Joy Pringle and Tayla van Rooyen (U16) and Luca Dudley and Caitlyn Peckham (U13).

Lindani Shusha and Aneska Dargie (first seniors) and Jacob de Villiers and Megan Bircher (U18) were full distance individual winners.
