Southcity Christian School’s first team cricket boys played against Creston College at Creston last Thursday.
Southcity batted first, making 225 for three in the 20 overs – Ben Snell 80, Gareth Pieterse 35 not out, Jordan Hill 34. Creston went in to bat and were all out for 80 (Jordan Hill four for 14). Southcity won by 144 runs.
The Treverton U15 and first cricket teams travelled to Southcity last Friday. The U15 and second boys played a T20 with Southcity winning the game.
The U15 team played a 50-over game last Saturday and the first boys played Treverton. Treverton batted first and scored 118 all out (Jordan Hill three for 17). Southcity went in to bat and scored 117 all out (Jakob de Villiers 50).
Treverton won by one run.
First team goalkeeper Gareth Pieterse has been selected to play soccer in Portugal in April next year and at last week’s annual prize-giving, he was nominated all-round Sportsman of the Year.
