Marsec speakers scoop top honours

The competition was fierce, but pupils did the school proud.

Marburg Secondary’s pupils excelled at the recent literary recycling competition hosted by Ray Nkonyeni Municipality.

Athini Mgetyana placed first for theatrical and poetic talent after reciting her thought-provoking poem entitled ‘I am the earth and I am angry’.

The audience was captivated by Mbali Nofemele’s inspiring speech ‘Demonstrations of good environmental practice for sustainable development practice at a social level’.

She was unanimously voted best speaker and accordingly awarded first place in the speech category.

With her characteristic passion for the recycling project, convener Marlene Naicker was impressed with the talent pupils displayed.
