At the recent Sheppie High awards ceremony, pupils who excelled in academics and sporting activities were honoured.

Ashmi Lautan was nominated dux of the school for 2018 and walked off with the Ray Nkonyeni Certificate in Recognition for Achieving Academic Excellence, academic honours and the Standard Bank Cup for accountancy.

Amahle Mathe was presented with the ‘Class of ’79 award for cultural contribution to the school’, which is awarded to a pupil who has thrown himself into the cultural life of the school.
Amahle has played lead roles in the school production for the last three years and awarded honours for drama for two consecutive years. He also received academic half colours and shared the ‘Jean Rochford cup for art practical’ with Safiyah Shaik.

Jarod Higgins and Ty Redinger were nominated ‘Sportsmen of the Year’ and also received academic half colours.
