Burglary suspect arrested after victim recognises him at Marburg garage
The woman was able to provide accurate information.
A suspected burglar was arrested after being spotted by his victim several days after the crime.
A 46-year old woman was at her home in Marburg on the morning of Sunday, November 11 when two men entered through the sliding door.

Using a knife, they threatened her and took a watch and handbag before fleeing into the bushes.
Port Shepstone police opened a case of house robbery for investigation.
On Thursday, November 22 Warrant Officer PC Naicker and Constable Jeeva Chetty were off duty when they received a call from the victim, who had recognised one of the men at a garage in Marburg.
“The officers immediately went to the garage, where they arrested a man and recovered a sharp knife. A second man fled. The captured suspect was charged and will appear in court soon,” said police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge.
He added that every person at or in the vicinity of a crime scene was a potential witness. Should you be a witness, you should try to remember as much detail as possible.
“Note the number of people involved. Focus on one of the criminals and try to remember his age, build, clothing, scars or tattoos, anything that struck you as strange or unusual. the routes they used, possible weapons or vehicles.
“Write down these observations as best you can in this traumatic situation, before discussing it with others, as this will influence your recall of the event,” said Capt Mpinge.
Accurate information is the first step in enabling the police to identify the criminals, arrest them and bring about a conviction.
