Early Christmas cheer for seniors

Each guest received a sponsored Christmas gift bag filled with wonderful goodies.

Port Shepstone Lions and Lion Ladies hosted their 28th annual Christmas luncheon for senior citizens at the Port Shepstone High hall last Saturday.

Approximately 100 senior folks from the Flower Foundation, Anerley Haven, Mbango Valley and other residences in the area were ferried to the lunch by the Lions.

The guests were treated to superb musical entertainment by Sue Nielson on the keyboard and singers Jurgen Human, Nils Potgieter, Mari Webster, Jade Smith and Michael Potgieter.

A delicious three-course Christmas lunch, prepared by the Port Shepstone Lion Ladies, was enjoyed by all.

Santa Claus, (aka Lion Clayton Curnow) and Mervin the Lion, (aka Lion Ralph Gallagher), presented each guest with a sponsored Christmas gift bag filled with wonderful goodies.

The event was a huge success, thanks to project convener Lion Hilton Horsley and his team of dedicated Lions and Lion Ladies.

The Port Shepstone Lions are extremely grateful to Port Shepstone High for allowing the club the use of its superb facilities. They would also like to thank their various sponsors for their assistance and support.
