Elvira said at her school, the friendships made during classes and performances are often lifelong ones, and the bonds created make for strong and fluid performances as was evident at the school’s sparkling year-end show.

Ready to dance are (from left) Joy-Rose Zaayman, Anika Prins and Veruska Knoesen.

“The school provides dancers with the same array of experiences that sports teams acquire, friendships, commitment, dedication, perseverance and confidence. The number of children taking part in dancing lessons is increasing yearly and enjoying its benefits with shows like these, where their self-esteem, confidence, activity levels, social and learning skills are enhanced,” explained Elvira.

Audith Pillay (left) wishes her daughter Andrea well ahead of her performance.
