Sheppie Snippets: Dinner and dance to raise funds

The Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir invites everyone to its year-end dinner and dance. The event takes place in the Marburg Secondary School hall on Saturday, December 22 at 6pm. Live entertainment will be provided by San Productions. Look forward to bhangra, classics, chutney music and dances. Entry fee is R150 per person and includes a full buffet. Dress code is smart casual.

Golf day
The annual mayoral golf day, hosted by Ray Nkonyeni Municipality mayor Nomusa Mqwebu, will take place at Margate Country Club this Friday, December 14 with a shotgun start at 11am. This will be followed by a cocktail function at 6pm. Format is fourball alliance with two scores to count. Entry fee is R250 per person. To book contact the pro shop at 039 3172340. Open only to players with official handicaps.
Christmas carols
Join in the fun this festive season with carols by candlelight at lot 7 Fynn Land, Pelican Road, Albersville, this Saturday, December 15 at 6pm. For further information contact Jesse at 073 6459494. Christmas carnival
Radiant Life Ministries in Palmview will hold a Christmas Carnival and Carols by Candlelight at the church on Monday, December 17 from 3pm to 10pm. Candles will be supplied. The Christmas cheer carols will be conducted by various worship groups spreading the joy.
Kavady
The Umbango Sri Siva Soobramoniar Alayam (Umbango Temple) invites everyone to its annual Thai Poosam Kavady festival from January 12 till January 21. Flag hoisting will be held on January 12 at 2.30pm. Daily obayams will start at 5pm.
Temple chariot will proceed through Port Shepstone on Sunday, January 13 from 8.30am. Thai Poosam Kavady is on Monday, January 21 from midday.
Public kavady will be held on January 26 from 6am. Supper will be served daily. All devotees who wish to take part in the obayams are requested to contact any of the executive members.
