Golden Singers bring early Christmas cheer

The Golden Singers put their own stamp on some well-known Christmas hits.

A good Christmas song can melt the heart of even the most hardened of Grinches and the Golden Singers’ Christmas concert at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Sea Park last Wednesday provided that in spades.

Despite being plunged into darkness by load shedding, the show went on.

Lots of positive comments were received from the audience at the end of the show, including “such magical singing,” and “they are just brilliant” to “so beautiful, this has really started off Christmas for us.”

Maureen and Roy Goddard of Southport sing along to the Christmas carols.

Golden Singers member Steph Bennett said, “I like the idea that we can make people happy and bring people together. I think it’s a community thing, for them to feel good. That’s what Christmas is all about.”
