The costumes and backdrops were colourful which added to the show’s allure and set the mood perfectly for the festive season.

The dance school was established in 2015 when Rajen Pillay from Uvongo saw his children’s passion to dance and teach dancing. The school teaches hip hop, contemporary and show dancing and has a number of students.

Ready to take to the stage at the ‘Step Up’ year-end show are dancers Antoinette Pillay (left) and Mignon Basson.

“Not only does our school allow us to teach dance but it created a platform for us to communicate and motivate children from different walks of life. Our main focus is for children to reach their full potential by making it affordable so they can learn how to dance,” said Mr Pillay.
