Prompt police action leads to arrest
A housebreaking suspect was caught and all the stolen items recovered.
Swift response to a housebreaking call by Port Edward police and a private security firm recently resulted in the recovery of R105 000 worth of stolen goods.
Ian and Esmare Gethen, owners of Aloe Inn Guest House, can’t praise the police and GP Security enough for the exceptional service.

An intruder entered the guest house in the early hours of Thursday last week, and made off with a cell phone, iPads, computer, passports, wallets and jewellery.
Sergeant Jackson Cele, together with members of the family, was able to trace the suspect to the Eastern Cape via a family tracking app on the stolen cell phone.
Sgt Cele, who was supposed to be off-duty, never gave up and with the assistance of two detectives, continued the search until an arrest was made at 7am and the stolen items recovered.
“Our visitors were so impressed by the officers, and said they would never have received this response from the police in Johannesburg,” said Esmare.
